El Palau Sant Jordi arena Barcelona

The Palau Sant Jordi Arena is a large indoor sports arena on Montjuic mountain in Barcelona . It was built for the Olympics in 1992. The Palau Sant Jordi arena is next to the Olympic Stadium.in Barcelona on Montjuic hill which  overlooks Barcelona from the south of the city. If you are arriving in Barcelona by air, then you will see Montjuic mountain on your way to the center of Barcelona. At the very top you can see Montjuic Castle. Palau Sant Jordi is used for concerts and sports events. Because this stadium is on a hill the nearest hotels are 1.2 km away.

   By Metro to station Espanya - then walk 15 minutes
Take the Metro to Metro station Espanya by metro lines Red L1 or metro line Green Line 3  - or by FCG trains. Then walk from the metro station Espanya up towards the MNAC art museum, which is the building that looks like a royal palace at the end of Av Reina Maria Christina above the Magic Fountain. The Palau Sant Jordi is up on the hill behind and to the right of the MNAC palace. You can take outdoor escalators  part of the way up the hill. From there just folllow the signs and the crowds. It is a around 15-20 walk from the metro station..

   By Metro to station Parallel - then take funicular mountain train - walk 15 minutes
Take the Metro to station Parallel on green L3. Then take the Montjuic funicular train up the Montjuic hill. With your back facing the train station turn right and walk along Av de Miramar down to the Palau Sant Jordi and Olympic Stadium. 15 min walk.

   By FCG train to station Pl. Espanya then walk 15 minutes.
Nearest FCG train stop is Pl Espanya. Then walk from the station Espanya up to the arena on the Av Reina Maria Christina, past the Magic Fountain and then up the outdoor escalators to take you part of the way up the hill. From there just folllow the signs and the crowds. It is a 15 min walk.

Bus line 55 to Olympic Stadium on Montjuic hill Barcelona.
Other buses to Olympic area Montjuic are 50 (from city center) and numbers: 9, 27, 30 and 193 
Buses to Pl Espanya from various areas of town: 157 (from Vila Olimpica) 109 (from Sants Station) and 56 (from Pl Glories)
Sometimes for trade fairs and concert there might be special buses to Plaza Espanya.
