How to get to Fira Gran Via Exhibition Centre Barcelona

Where is the Fira Gran Via Exhibition Centre Barcelona? The Fira Gran Via exhibition centre is located in the Hospitalet de Llobregat area of Barcelona, which is just outside the city centre on the south side of Montjuic hill about half-way between Barcelona airport and the city centre.

Fira Gran Via is about 4 km from the other main Barcelona exhibition area, which is called Fira Montjuic.  Both the Fira Gran Via and the Fira Montjuic are owned by Fira de Barcelona, who organise most of Barcelona biggest trade fairs and exhibitions.  The Fira Gran Via area also has a convention and congress centre called the "Centre de Convencions Gran Via." The Fira Gran Via trade fair buildings were designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito and are one of the most modern exhibition areas in Europe. The Fira Gran Via site has 240,000 square metres of exhibition space in 8 pavilions, a heliport with two helipads and one of the biggest roof photovoltaic plants in the world. Some of the biggest trade shows in Barcelona take place at the Fira Gran Via including the Barcelona International Food and Drinks Exhibition "Alimentaria," - the Barcelona boat show and from 2012 the MWC Mobile World Congress.

The Gran Via exhibition area is just outside the city centre in a suburb of Barcelona. The exhibition centre is excellent but apart from shopping malls there are few attractions in this industrial area, so many visitors choose to stay in Barcelona. But the Gran Via exhibition centre is quite close to the city centre by train or taxi, so you can also choose hotels in the centre of Barcelona.
