There are nine connecting beaches in Barcelona. Each has different name. From south to north the names are Sant Sebastià, Sant Miquel, Somorrostro, La Barceloneta, La Nova Icària, Bogatell, La Mar Bella, La Nova Mar Bella, Llevant beach. Read more about the beaches of Barcelona
 There are two or three chiringuitos beach bars on each of the Barcelona beaches in the summer. From 2012 the beach bars are allowed to serve drinks on the beach too. There are also round beach front restaurants and beach clubs.  Barceloneta beach with Hotel W on the horizon  Bogatell beach Barcelona  Barcelona is on the east coast of Spain facing the Mediterranean sea. You can usually swim in the sea from mid-June to end September with Barcelona sea water temperatures between 19 - 24 celcius.
 The newest beach in Barcelona is the most northern called Llevant at Diagonal Mar area  Mar Bella beach Barcelona. Base Nautica sailing and windsurfing club in background  Surfing has become popular and SUP paddle boarding in Barcelona in recent years.
 Waiting for the waves..  Nova Icaria beach near Port Olimpic is a popular all year for beach volley players in Barcelona  One left on Barceloneta beach  Barceloneta beach seen from Port Olimpic at sunset with Montjuic hill in background. In the summer it's light enough to stay on the beach until around 9 pm.
