Plaça de Sant Jaume Barcelona. Plaça de Sant Jaume is the the main square in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona and one of Barcelona central plaza which is often used for festivals and displays. Plaça de Sant Jaume has two government buildings - the renaissance palace of the Generalitat which is the government of Catalonia called "El Palau de la Generalitat." Opposite is the neo-classical town hall building of the ciy council of Barcelona called Ajuntament de Barcelona.
