Bagués-Masriera Museum modernist jewels
Bagués-Masriera Museum Barcelona.  Permanent exhibition of modernist Jewellery located on the first floor of exclusive Hotel Bagués on La Rambla 105 in the former Bagués-Masriera jewellery workshop and shop. This museum displays a permanent collection of jewellery pieces created by the renowned artist Lluís Masriera (1872-1958). Founded in 1839 the jewellery business Bagués-Masriera Joyeros is famous in the high-end jewellery sector. The symbolic icons of modernism are a major feature of the jewels in the Bagués-Masriera museum: dragonflies, flowers, nymphs, butterflies and insects, together with the refined nature of his enamel works displaying the plique-à-jour technique, also known as finestrat in Catalan.

Some of the most interesting pieces on display in the Bagués Hotel include Masriera's necklaces, earrings, bracelets, brooches and pendants, as well as a selection of exquisite watercolours and drawings in Indian ink (artist's sketches to show his clients the development of the piece of jewellery) and examples of his domestic and religious gold and silver work including paperweights, cutlery, vases and more.
