Museu Blau - Blue Museum ^Popular

Museu Blau. The Blue museum is part of the Barcelona Natural science museum 'El Museu de Ciències Naturals' Blue Museum at Parc del Forum in Diagonal Mar area of Barcelona. The Museu Blau is a natural science museum with 3,500 exhibits about the evolution of life and the planet.

The blue museum is in an impressive blue triangular building built in 2004 by architects Herzog & de Meuron.

The building is an equilateral triangle measuring 180 metres wide and 25 metres high.

Highlights of the blue museum include the room of mirrors and the skeleton of a whale washed up on the shore in Cap Ras in the north of Catalunya in 1862.

The Blue Museum is part of the Barcelona Science museum which has several facilities in Barcelona, which are the Museu Blau and the Barcelona Botanical Gardens Jardí Botànic on Montjuic hill

Blue Museum winter opening times
1 October to 31 May
Tuesday to Friday:  10:00 to 19:00
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 to 20:00

Blue Museum summer opening times
1 June to 30 September
Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00 to 21:00

Mondays closed all year except national holidays
Closed 1/1 and 25/12

Free entrance:
First Sunday of month and every Sunday after 15:00
