Hotel W Barcelona. The W hotel Barcelona by Marriot is a graceful glass sail structure by Barceloneta beach. The official name is 'Hotel W' but it is also well known by local nickname 'La Vela' which means 'the sail' in Spanish.

The W hotel Barcelona was designed by Spanish/Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill. It has become a landmark luxury hotel with 26 floors and 476 rooms all with superb views of the sea and the coastline.
