La Bascula - restaurant, Barcelona. La Bascula means weight scales in Spanish. This stylishly bohemian eatery in a wonderful old medieval street in El Born of Barcelona has kept the old world charm of its former chocolate factory surroundings by decorating the high ceiled interior with an array of homeless furniture saved from the streets and given a new life. The owners are an Argentines cooperative and though this is not strictly a vegetarian restaurants, healthly living is the name of the fame, and the collective's members take it in turns to keep a flow of organic, often vegetarian and always healthy dishes coming from the kitchens.
