On 29th October 1912 the famous building Casa Mila 'La Pedrera' opened in Barcelona.  Casa Mila was built between 1906 and 1912 by famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. It is one of the most unusual building designs in Barcelona and Spain. During construction the neighbours tried to have the building work stopped because they feared the controversial design would affect property prices on fashionable Passeig de Gracia street in Barcelona, where Casa Mila is situated.
