Even on a 1 day tour to Andorra you must bring a valid passport or a national identity card. The border control might ask to see a passport or identity card both upon entering and leaving Andorra. You will need to bring your passport because the microstate of Andorra is not in the EU - European Union - and is not in the Schengen zone. The Schengen area allows more than 400 million people who live in the Schengen area to travel freely between member countries without going through border controls.
