Information:
The Cap Roig Festival is a series of outdoor summer concerts on the Costa Brava in Calella de Palafrugell located 2.5 hours drive to the north of Barcelona. The Cap Roig festival was created as a summer festival to showcases different music styles on the Costa Brava. The Cap Roig Festival is sometimes also called Jardins de Cap Roig Festival. All concerts are in the auditorium of "Jardines de Cap Roig" botanical gardens, which is a beautiful and scenic location on the Costa brava coast with lovely walks and sea views of the beaches and village of Calella de Palafrugell. 

The Cap Roig festival venue is only accessible by car and is about 1 hour by car from Girona - and 2.5 hours by car from Barcelona. Parking is available nearby. 

Before and after the concert, refreshments are available to buy in the courtyard of the castle. Dinner is available at the Via Veneto gourmet restaurant. All concerts start at 22:00.

Castle history
The Cap Roig castle (often called the Russian house) and botanical Gardens were built in 1927 by Russian Colonel called Nicolai Woevodsky, and his English aristocrat wife, Dorothy Webster. They bought the property beside the sea in Calella de Palafrugell and commissioned the building of a small neo-Gothic castle. Nicholas or Nicolai, was an exiled Colonel from Nicholas II of Russia's army. His interest in architecture and her interest in archaeology and gardening created the Cap Roig gardens. Today Cap Roig is owned by charitable foundation of Spanish bank Caixabank. It is considered one of the most important botanical gardens of the Mediterranean.
