European Balloon Festival Barcelona. Biggest balloon festival in Spain near Barcelona and one of the biggest in Europe. More than 50 hot air balloons from around the world take to the sky during the Igualada Balloon Festival that takes place every summer in the town of Igualada, located 1 hour from Barcelona by car or train. Crowds of up to 25,000 spectators flock to the town to marvel at the amazing sight of the sky full of hot air balloons. Don't miss the ‘Night Glow’ event, with dozens of balloons illuminating the night sky on the evening of July 9th 2022 followed by a concert by Catalan band Sopa de Cabra. There are good bus and ferrocarril train connections from Barcelona to Igualada.
