In our opinion the five most popular tapas in Barcelona are as follows:

Patatas Bravas (Bravas potatoes)
Patatas bravas are one of the simplest and most popular of all Spanish tapas. It typically of white potatoes cut into irregular small, fried in oil and served warm with a spicy tomato based sauce drizzled on top. Make sure to ask if they are homemade when ordered in bars.

Legend has it that patatas bravas originated in Barcelona's Bar Tomás - El Tomás de Sarrià - a place that still is reputed to have Barcelona's best patatas bravas which are served crispy and tender with a "secret" sauce.
