F1 Formula 1 Grand Prix Barcelona

Barcelona Formula 1 Grand Prix race, in Spanish called "Fórmula 1 Gran Premio de España Pirelli" is at the Montmelo racetrack in Catalonia in May.

2020 Update: Formula One race organisers Liberty Media have  announced a tentative blueprint for a possible eight-race European season of F1 racing without spectators. 

This would start on 5th July with 2 races in Austria, 2 races in UK, 1 race in Budapest in July 2020. Then in August and September a race in Hockenheim or possibily Barcelona along with races in Spa and Monza.

Seeing a Formula One race live is an breathtaking experience. Even if you are not an huge F1 fan it is a unique experience to see this exciting event live and what better place than in Barcelona when the annual Barcelona Formula One Grand Prix race comes to town.

The F1 Montmelo race track in Barcelona has 24 giant screens, the biggest of which is 200 m2 wide.

Some practical tips. The F1 engine noise is actually so loud that ear plugs are highly recommended, especially for kids.

You can get them at any "farmacia" chemist/drugstore. Earplugs are called "tapones para los oídos" in Spanish. Bring sun lotion and comfortable footwear.
