Sala Montjuic Barcelona. Al Fresco cinema in Barcelona summer 2022. Sala Montjuic at Montjuic Castle in Barcelona.Sala Montjuic programme. Barcelona's most popular summer outdoor cinema Sala Montjuic presents a selection of timeless feature movies and warm-up concerts, picnics and short films.

Enjoy outdoor classic and popular original version movies on a giant screen while seated on the lawn of Montjuic's castle moat. Before each screening there will be live music and sometimes a short film.

Bring something to sit on (or rent deck-chairs), bring a blanket or sweater to stay warm (the night breeze and humidity can be chilly)

Bring your own snacks/drinks or buy at the bar. 

The Sala Montjuic movies are all in original language with Spanish subtitles.

Sala Montjuic screens al fresco movies three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for five weeks in the summer of Barcelona.

Tickets are €7.50 at the box office. Children under 6 are free.

How to get to Sala Montjuic, Montjuic Castle

Information can change. Please check on organisers website.

To get a good place it is recommend to get there at 8.30 pm when the ticket sales open. The concert starts at 8:45 pm and the main feature starts at 10 pm.

TMB (bus company) shuttle buses leave from the two towers on Plaza Espanya at 8.15 pm and 9.30 pm.

TMB buses go back to Plaza Espanya after end of film.

Or take funicular train from metro station Parallel - then take cable car to Montjuic.

The cable car is only open for the start of movies at Sala Montjuic.

When the movie ends you take a bus to Plaza Espanya.

Please note also that the metro closes at 12.00 during week-days, so you will have to take taxi from Plaza Espanya.

Limited places: 2,500 people

Tickets are sold at Montjuic castle on the day of the screening (from 20:30 pm). 2000 tickets available on site. You can purchase advance tickets on Sala Montjuic website. 500 tickets available in advance.

IMPORTANT: It is not necessary to print your ticket. You can download it in your mobile device.
