Local residents are overwhelmingly friendly, comfortable with many visitors, and sincerely appreciate the tourist industry, which is an essential source of income funds many public services and brings many benefits to the city.It's true that the rapid growth of tourism in recent years has brought rapid changes that some residents find challenging, but generally it's accepted that such developments are part of natural progress of any international city. To ensure that both residents and visitors can enjoy the city, the city council, tourist companies, locals, and tourists all work together to help manage and regulate tourism to keep everyone as happy as possible.

So the answer is no, people in Barcelona do not hate tourists; tourists are welcome in Barcelona, Spain.
