Is weed and cannabis legal in Barcelona?


Cannabis is illegal for commercial purposes, which means it's illegal to traffic cannabis.

There are heavy penalities for trafficking drugs including cannabis in Spain

Cannabis was decriminalised in 2015 for personal cultivation and use.

This means that you can grow and smoke cannabis for personal use only in your home or on private property.

You can buy seeds and other cannabis associated products but you can only grow it at home and only if it is not in public view

After the 2015 law, an estimated 500 cannabis clubs opened all over Spain.

Barcelona has around 200 cannabis clubs.

Cannabis clubs are only for Spanish citizens over the age of 21 and charge a membership fee.
