History
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Trofeo Conde de Godó, is the oldest tennis tournament in Spain. The first Conde de Godó took place in 1953. Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal holds the record for most wins having lifted the trophy 11 times at the Barcelona Open since 2005. At the Barcelona Open 2017 the ATP 500 level tournament officially renamed the center court to 'Pista Rafa Nadal', in honor of the greatest clay court player of all time.
