Fira Gran Via exhibition area and convention centre is located just outside the Barcelona city centre in the Hospitalet de Llobregat suburb of Barcelona which is about 7 km from Barcelona downtown center Plaza Catalunya square and about 4km from Barcelona's other big exhibition area called Fira Montjuic.

Both the Fira Gran Via and the Fira Montjuic trade show areas are owned by Fira de Barcelona, who organise many of Barcelona biggest trade fairs and exhibitions. The Fira Gran Via area also has a convention and congress centre called the "Centre de Convencions Gran Via."

The Fira Gran Via trade fair buildings were designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito and are one of the most modern exhibition areas in Europe. The Fira Gran Via site has 240,000 square metres of exhibition space in 8 pavilions, a heliport with two helipads and one of the biggest roof photovoltaic plants in the world. Some of the biggest trade shows in Barcelona take place at the Fira Gran Via including the Barcelona International Food and Drinks Exhibition "Alimentaria" and the MWC Mobile World Congress and many more.

The Gran Via exhibition area is just outside the city centre in a suburb of Barcelona. The exhibition centre is excellent, but apart from a shopping mall and an IKEA, there are few attractions in this business area. The Gran Via exhibition center is close to the Barcelona city center by train or taxi and many Fira Gran Via business visitors choose to stay in Barcelona. 

If you plan to go by public transport to the Gran Via exhibition area, but prefer to stay in Barcelona city center, then you might want to consider booking hotels close to the street Gran Via in Barcelona.

If you are in a hotel close to the Gran Via street, then you can take the L1 red metro line to Plaza Espanya - then from the Plaza Espanya metro station you change on the same metro ticket to the FGC train network to get to the FGC station called Europa Fira on L9 , which has a stop directly at the Gran Via exhibition area.

Getting to Fira Gran Via Barcelona

Distances: From Fira Gran Via to Plaza Catalunya in the city centre: 7 km / 20 minutes by taxi. From Fira Gran Via to Barcelona airport: 9 km / 15 minutes by taxi. From Fira Gran Via to Fira Montjuic exhibition area: 4 km / 8 minutes by taxi.

By Metro
Metro line: L-9 Sud connects to metro station Fira and station Europa/Fira. The metro station Fira is directly underneath the Fira Gran Via trade area. The Orange Metro Line 9 connects Barcelona airport terminals 1 and 2 to outer parts of the Barcelona metro network. Please note that the L9 metro line is a not a conventional high-speed direct line connecting Barcelona airport to the Barcelona city center, but it is very convenient for trade fair visitors to Fira Gran Via to get to and from Barcelona airport quickly
