How to get to Fira Gran Via Exhibition Centre Barcelona

Where is the Fira Gran Via trade show exhibition centre Barcelona? The Fira Gran Via exhibition centre is located in the Hospitalet de Llobregat area of Barcelona, which is just outside the city centre on the south side of Montjuic hill about half-way between Barcelona airport and the Barcelona city centre. Fira Gran Via exhibition area and convention centre is located just outside the Barcelona city centre in the Hospitalet de Llobregat suburb of Barcelona which is about 7 km from Barcelona downtown center Plaza Catalunya square and about 4km from Barcelona's other big exhibition area called Fira Montjuic.

Both the Fira Gran Via and the Fira Montjuic are owned by Fira de Barcelona, who organise many of Barcelona biggest trade fairs and exhibitions. The Fira Gran Via area also has a convention and congress centre called the "Centre de Convencions Gran Via."

The Fira Gran Via trade fair buildings were designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito and are one of the most modern exhibition areas in Europe. The Fira Gran Via site has 240,000 square metres of exhibition space in 8 pavilions, a heliport with two helipads and one of the biggest roof photovoltaic plants in the world. Some of the biggest trade shows in Barcelona take place at the Fira Gran Via including the Barcelona International Food and Drinks Exhibition "Alimentaria" and the MWC Mobile World Congress and many more.

Getting to Fira Gran Via Barcelona

Distances: From Fira Gran Via to Plaza Catalunya in the city centre: 7 km / 20 minutes by taxi. From Fira Gran Via to Barcelona airport: 9 km / 15 minutes by taxi. From Fira Gran Via to Fira Montjuic exhibition area: 4 km / 8 minutes by taxi.

Metro line: L-9 Sud connects to metro stations "Fira" and "Europa/Fira. New Barcelona Metro Line 9 orange connects Barcelona airport terminals 1 and 2 to the metro station. The metro station Fira is directly underneath the Fira Gran Via trade area. From Fira Gran Via stop the new metro line then connects with outer parts of the Barcelona metro network. The new L9 metro line is a not a conventional high-speed direct metro line connecting Barcelona airport to the Barcelona city centre, like many other European cities have, but it is very convenient for business visitors at Fira Gran Via to get to and from Barcelona airport.
