Excerpt of press statement from MWC organisers GSMA regarding cancellation decision

"With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has cancelled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event."

The decision to cancell the MWC 2020 event was due to many cancellations of participation by many major tech companies who cancelled over fears surrounding the spread of the coronovirus. It's important to know that Barcelona and mainland Spain have not had any confirmed cases of coronavirus as of 12 February 2020

YoMo 2020. The Youth Mobile Festival. Over five days, YoMo Barcelona will welcome 22,000 school children from across Catalonia and Spain to one huge showcase of science and technology. With live theatre shows, interactive workshops, and dozens of hands-on activities, there will be something to engage every young person. YoMo is designed to bring classroom learning to life – by showing the exciting and rewarding career opportunities that are available in the mobile and STEAM ecosystem. YoMo Barcelona is free to attend for registered school groups.
