Information:
MWC24 Mobile World Congress Barcelona. Barcelona's top international tech business event takes place in late February. MWC is the largest mobile event in the world and brings together the latest innovations and leading-edge technology and business leaders. Over 100,000 visitors are expected for the 2025 edition. MWC isn't only about mobile tech. 60% of 2024 visitors are from industries like transport, finance, logistics, or videogames indicating that MWC is now focused on technology as a whole, with its motto "Future First" including areas like 5G, digitalization, robotics, AI, and sustainable mobility. It also covers cloud computing, VR, AR, and mixed reality's commercial uses. Major tech players like Google, Amazon, Qualcomm, Meta, IBM, Microsoft, and HP all attend this event. 25% of visitors are Asian, with Japanese, Korean and Chinese professionals attending. 360 Catalan companies are present and the Catalonia stand has a section for supercomputing highlighting the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. Hall 6 at MWC is called "Trip to the Future", showcasing self-driving drones using AI, medical technology of the future and more.

The weather at the end of February in Barcelona can be lovely, sunny and warm with highs of 15C/59F to 18C/65F in the shade, but sometimes can also much cooler, damp and cold with day temperatures around 10C/50F, so check the Barcelona weather forecast before you pack.

The main venue for MWC Barcelona is the Fira Gran Via trade area in the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat municipality of Barcelona. This trade fair area is half-way between the airport and the city center.

The MWC usually welcomes around 107,000 trade visitors, over 300 keynote speakers, 2200 exhibitors and visitors from around 200 different nations in nine halls and outdoor spaces at both Fira Gran Via and Fira Montjuïc trade fair areas.

The location of the 2025 MWC is the exhibition centre Fira Gran Via. The Fira Gran Via is located just outside Barcelona city center between Barcelona airport and city centre. This venue in Barcelona has with eight exhibition halls and 94,000 sqm all under the same roof and all halls will be in use for the MWC which also features 300 WiFi points during the fair. Metro Barcelona airport to MWC

New Barcelona Metro Line 9 connects Barcelona airport terminals 1 and 2 to the station Fira which is at the Fira Gran Via and MWC20. From Fira Gran Via metro stop Metro line 9 then connects with outer parts of the Barcelona metro network but not to the city center.

The L9 metro line is a not a conventional high-speed direct metro line connecting Barcelona airport to the Barcelona city centre, like many other European cities have, but it is very convenient for business visitors at Fira Gran Via to get to and from Barcelona airport.

Hotels near MWC 2025

Hotels near MWC 2025. The Fira Gran Via exhibition center is excellent for trade shows, but the area is very boring. Apart from a shopping mall and an IKEA store, there are few attractions in this commercial area, so many MWC visitors also prefer to find accommodation in central Barcelona.

There are a number of new and modern hotels and aparthotels close to the Gran Via exhibition centre which you can find on the links below. The Fira Gran Via exhibition centre is quite close to the city centre by train or taxi, so you can also choose hotels in the centre of Barcelona. If you plan to go by public transport to the Gran Via exhibition area, but prefer to stay in Barcelona city centre, then you might want to consider booking hotels close to the street Gran Via in Barcelona. Then you can take the L1 red metro line to Plaza Espanya and from the Plaza Espanya metro station you change on the same ticket to the FGC train to get to the FGC station Europa Fira which is the closest to the Gran Via exhibition area.
