Where to buy furniture in Barcelona. Renting a furnished flat is usually quite a lot more expensive than an renting an unfornished apartment. It might be full of quite cheap or second hand furniture and not really worth the extra rental expense. It might be more comfortable to rent an empty flat and then buy cheap or second furniture yourself. Here are some tips for finding reasonably cheap or second hand furniture for your flat or apartment in Barcelona.

Ikea Barcelona
The Scandinavian furniture giant IKEA is the first stop for cheap and stylish furniture which is perfect for furnishing a flat. Ikea has three shops in town. Ikea stores Barcelona. Ikea also offer transport and assembly services and there are some private companies that also offer IKEA services. Outside the Ikea stores there are usually also some local 'man and van' services that will offer to transport you home with your purchase. 

Conforama
Conforama is a Spanish equivalent of Ikea. It is worth checking out if you want to avoid having all the same furniture and lamps from Ikea as your friends!  Visit Conforama's website to see their catalogue online. Second hand - Flea Markets
Barcelona biggest flea market, the Encants - Mercat de Fira de Bellcaire (which means the old charms fair) has a many second hand items for sale. There are some good deals to be made if you are looking to fill the gaps in your apartment with quirky items, but a lot of rubbish as well to be honest. The Els Encants Vells flea market is open on Saturdays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday from 9 to 18.00. For the best deals it’s probably a good idea to get there early.
