L´Arxiu Històric de la Ciutat de Barcelona (AHCB) The Historic Archives of the City of Barcelona (AHCB) is institution responsible for the custody, treatment and dissemination of documents generated or received by the city administration since the creation of the municipal government of Barcelona in mid-thirteenth century until the mid nineteenth century liberal revolution. It also contains other archival materials, bibliographic and newspaper considered relevant to understanding the history of Barcelona. The AHCB is located in buildings built on roman walls on Placa Nova also known as the Archdeacon's house, Casa de l'Ardiaca. The AHCB offers guided tours for groups and university research.
