The nudist beaches in Barcelona is the Platja de la Mar Bella nudist area in front of the Mar Bella sports complex and Platja de Sant Sebastià in front of the Hotel W.

There are, however, many beautiful and secluded nudist beaches outside Barcelona for example the Cala Illa Roja (Platja de l'Illa Roja) in Begur on the Costa Brava, which is one of the Catalonia naturist beaches with the longest nudist tradition.

However, due to the beauty of many naturist beaches occupants often find themselves sharing 'their' beaches with 'textiles' - as the naturist movement here like to call bathers who are wearing swimsuits.

The naturist organisations would like better signposting and protection of these naturist spaces but the great natural beauty of some of the spots, might make it difficult.
