Xampañería Can Paixano. The real name is Can Paixano, but everyone knows this bar as 'la Xampañería' in Catalan or 'la Champaneria' in Spanish. This tiny bar near Barceloneta in Barcelona was founded in 1969 and is still very popular with visitors and locals alike.

It is very small and only has standing room but the cheap and tasty cava (which is Spanish sparkling wine) and hot and cold bocadillos (sandwiches) at very reasonable prices keeps la Xampañería full most of the time. Great atmosphere and good value for money!
