While not one of the oldest or biggest tapas bar La Ciudad Condal is definately one of the best tapas bars in Barcelona, especially if you are looking for good tapas near Plaza Catalunya. Huge array of superb and fresh tapas. A central location on corner of Rambla Catalunya and Gran Via. Choose from 60 classic tapas, cheeses and charcuterie and a variety of 10 - 20 dishes of the day. The inside is not huge but it's nice with wooden panelling. It has a big outside terrace in the middle walking area of Rambla Catalunya. Ciudad Condal is on the corner of Gran Via and Rambla Catalunya in the center of Barcelona near Plaza Catalunya. The owners also operate the popular and bigger La Cerveseria Catalana which is located up the street of Rambla de Catalunya on the corner of Mallorca. The name Ciudad Condal (Spanish) is an unofficial name for Barcelona. In Catalan it is Ciutat Comtal. It means county city.
