Around 15,000 runners will take part in the 98th edition of the Jean Bouin run, which is one of Spain's oldest athletics events. The Jean Bouin is made up of 13 races of various categories and distances - including several for participants with disabilities. It is part of the Challenge BCN10k The biggest race is the 10k Open Race, which is as the name implies, open to anyone. History: The Jean Bouin run was started in Barcelona in 1920 by three journalists and sports promoters who were passionate about athletics. They were Josep Anton Trabal, Lluís Meléndez and Rossend Calvet. They named their new running event after the legendary French athlete, Jean Bouin, who was runner-up in the Stockholm Olympics of 1912.
