2025 Barcelona Marathon is on Sunday 16th March 2025. The Barcelona marathon is one of the most popular marathons in Europe with 17,000 registered runners in this years edition. The 2025 edition is once again sponsored by the Zurich insurance company and the official name is the Zurich Barcelona Marathon. 



The Barcelona Marathon is a 42,195 km running race which is becoming a popular classic on the international marathon calendar. It has been run since 1977 on a flat and scenic route through some beautiful parts of Barcelona. Around 20,000 runners take part in the Barcelona Marathon.

The Barcelona Marathon is very well-organised with a route entirely in Barcelona city with water points lining the route, massage service and showers, as well as plenty of changing rooms at the start and finish line. For the thousands watching the event there are be many entertainment points along the route with food tasting, drumming groups, Catalan tradition including giants, bastoner stick dancers, bands and other cultural activities. Don't miss the traditional Breakfast Run the day before the Barcelona marathon and the Pasta Party on the Saturday before the marathon.
 
THe Expo Sports event is usually in the Montjuic Fira trade fair area. Expo Sports attracts more than 45,000 athletes every year and is a meeting point for all sports enthusiasts and for the participants of the Zurich Marató Barcelona.
