Can you walk ashore from cruise ships in Barcelona to old city center?


Yes and No. For most guests on the big cruise ships the answer is no. There are 2 port areas, where cruise ships dock in Barcelona. From the dock where the big ships are, it's a bit of a trek to walk into the city.  From the smaller docking area it's possible to walk to the into the port area and the old gothic area.

Most cruise ships dock at the biggest dock called Moll Adossat From Moll Adossat pier it's a 25 minute walk to the edge of the old part of Barcelona where you the hop-on-hop-off bus tours have stops. But honestly most cruise passengers choose to take a texi or catch the port shuttle bus from Moll Adossat, which is called the Cruisebus.  To decide if you want to walk from your cruise ship to the city, find out first which Barcelona cruise ship terminal your cruise ship will dock at. 


Where are Barcelona's cruise ship terminals?


Barcelona currently has six cruise ship terminals in 2024. You can easily walk ashore from the small ship terminals S. You can walk ashore from big ship terminals A, B, C, D and E but it takes 30 to 40 minutes and most passengers choose to take cruise shuttle bus, taxi or private transfer


Where do small cruise cruise ships dock in Barcelona?


Smalller cruise ships dock at terminals  S, which are very close to Barcelona's old city center and you can walk ashore.


Where do big cruise ships dock in Barcelona?


All the big cruise ships dock on the Barcelona's biggest cruise ship pier called Moll D'Adossat pier which has five terminals A, B, C and D and E.



To walk from Terminals A, B, C , D and E terminals walk is about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to the edge of the old city. The Moll D'Adossa Barcelona cruise port terminals is 5km / 3 miles from the city center of Barcelona and 2km / 1 mile from the old gothic area of Barcelona. 

You can see the city from the cruise ships when you dock but it is a little further than you think to walk - 30 minutes walk to the edge of the old city called "Ciutat Vella."

Cuitat Vella means old city. There are several neighbourhoods in the Ciutat Vella.

 

Can you walk from Moll D'Adossat to old city center?


Yes if you are comfortable walking and have time.

No if you are not a good walker.

Most cruise ship passengers choose to take a taxi, a private transfer or the Cruisebus
