R2 Nord train to Barcelona El Prat airport. Line R2 North. The line name is R2 Nord Aeroport - Maçanet-Massanes. The R2 Nord is the northbound line from the airport and called R2 Nord "Norte Aeropuerto - Sant Celoni/Maçanet." These two names are the stations at each end of the R2 Nord line.

NOTE: There are easier ways to get to Barcelona airport from the city center than taking the R2 Nord, like taxi and airport bus. Read about them in article below.

The R2 Nord leaves from Barcelona-Passeig de Gràcia station in Barcelona city center - or from station Sants and some other station in the city center.

Please note that R2 Nord is not a direct fast train to Barcelona city centre. There are no fast direct train connections from Barcelona airport to the city centre.

Also note that R2 Nord train is not on the same tracks as metro trains, so find the signs or ask for help in finding the R2 Nord line.

This airport station location on Passeig de Gracia (also called Paseo de Gracia in Spanish) is on the corner of the streets Arago and Passeig de Gracia. On Passeig de Gracia street, it is easiest to find the entrance to the R2 Nord trains by going to the famous Casa Batllo designed by Gaudi. This house is on Passeig de Gracia 43 - and the station for R2 Nord entrance is close by. Look for the Adif sign.

If you are connecting to the R2 Nord airport train by metro, then it is possible to go from the Passeig de Gracia metro station to the Passeig de Gracia airport station by underground tunnel, but there are many steps and long tunnels.

It's important to note that the R2 train - without the word Nord in the name - does not go to Barcelona airport.

The R2 ends at station El Prat de Llobregat and from there you can switch to R2 Nord which is one station from Airport terminal 2.

Timetable:
There are only two R2 Nord train departures per hour from the Passeig de Gracia station, so the R2 Nord train can take longer than the Aerobus airport buses or a Taxi or an airport private transfer - and the R2 Nord train only goes to T2 terminal at the airport. The travel time is 24 minutes from Passeig de Gracia station

It is not possible to walk between Barcelona airport terminals, but you can use free green shuttle terminal buses between terminals T1 and T2 which leave every 5 minutes. 

The travel time between the T1 and T2 terminal at Barcelona airport on the green bus is 12 minutes.
