FAQ. Are  shops open on Sundays in Barcelona?


No. Most Barcelona shops are closed on Sundays. Barcelona shops are generally only open on around eight Sundays during the year - often in connection with shopping periods. 

In 2019 for example, many brand name shops will be open on Sunday 7th July as part of the 2019  Barcelona summer sales.

The only shopping mall that is always open on Sundays is Maremagnum mall, which has a special license due to its location in Barcelona harbour however it has a limited number of shops.

The luxury outlet village La Roca is always open on Sundays all year round. Barcelona museums, tourist attractions and cinemas are open on Sundays.

Some restaurants are open on Sundays but many close on Sundays.


Are shops open Sundays in December in Barcelona?

The same rules apply. Some big stores in the city center and Barcelona shopping malls in Barcelona are open on some Sundays in December before 24th December for Barcelona Christmas shopping.
