FAQ. Are  shops open on Sundays in Barcelona?


No. Most Barcelona shops are closed on Sundays. Barcelona shops are generally only open on around eight Sundays during the year - often in connection with shopping periods. 

The only shopping mall that is always open on Sundays is Maremagnum mall, which has a special license due to its location in Barcelona harbour however it has a limited number of shops and not all the shops choose to stay open on Sundays.

There is a luxury outlet village called La Roca which is always open on Sundays all year round.

Barcelona museums, tourist attractions and cinemas are usually open on Sundays.

Some restaurants are open on Sundays.

Are shops open Sundays in December in Barcelona?

The same rules apply. Some big stores in the city center and Barcelona shopping malls in Barcelona are open on some Sundays in December before 24th December for Barcelona Christmas shopping.
