9th February 1908

On 9th February 1908 the Palau de la Música Catalana was inaugurated as an auditorium for concerts of orchestra and instrumental music. It was designed by the Catalan architect Lluís Domenech i Montaner and is part of the most iconic buildings of Catalan modernism. It was built between 1905 and 1908 and hosts the headquarter of the Catalan choral society (Orfeó Català), founded by Lluís Millet and Amadeo Vives in 1891. Its construction was ordered by the Orfeó Català choral society was declared National Monument in 1971.
