17th of December 1889

The famous American Buffalo Bill and his famous Wild-West Show landed by ship in Barcelona on the 17th of December 1889. A big crowd was waiting at the port to greet them and were amazed by the huge buffalo. The show was at Barcelona's first bullring called "El Torín" which was in the Barceloneta neighborhood. This bullring no longer exists but the location was where the Mare Nostrum Tower, headquarters of gas company Gas Natural Fenosa, is currently located. Buffalo Bill stayed at the Cuatro Naciones hotel on La Rambla street #40, which is still open to this day.
